I have say, alot of those who are commenting sounds like like a bunch of pretenious jerks. If someone else enjoyed it, they are not by default morons.I liked it and have a college education, worked on fighter planes, and have an IQ of 128 I suppose Im somehow an idiot for liking a movie. Sorry you hated it and found it to be an unpleasant experience, anyone who did. It's not going away either. Theres been two, if you didnt like them...dont go to see the 3rd!

Theres definitely going be a 3rd. I know people of all ages who enjoyed it. Myself as a long time fan, my sister and her kids whom I took, my girlfriend, and even one of my co workers whos in his 70s greatly enjoyed the films when I loaned him my DVDs. People do geniuely like it. Even if the haters who probably linked spoony's review(which was kind of weak review I lost interest in it and turned it off.) I enjoyed spoony's review of other stuff, but he seemed so off balance by the whole thing he couldnt even properly fabricate a solid arguement against it and needed bring in his brother. Like the movie kicked his ass and he had get his older brother to fight for him heh. Which is rather comical in itself.

If you really think spoony that this movie was racist, lets really deconstruct this train of thought then. Ive seen enough people claim this, but I have say I dont agree with them. In for this movie be racist that would imply all transformers are a race or emulating one. So does that mean all the rest of the robots are a race too, and if so what are they and on what grounds are this race? Is simply the voice actor? The way they speak, what they look like? serious for you be right and have proof there has be a consistent pattern between all other transformers for that to hold true. Are we simply prescribing to the tabula rasa notion all characters are white if they lack a defining trait that doesnt jump at you?

So if it's simply the voice actor, Skids is voiced by a white voice actor. Remo williams also voiced Frenzy in the first film as well as Mudflap. If the characters were so out and out offensive you think Remo Willaims would have played Mudflap? Jazz has always been voiced by a black actor in G1, Animated, and the movie, which Darius McCrazy who voiced him said it was an honor to follow in Scatman Crothers shoes. Yeah thats really racist if its an honor play a character. Which I'm white and Jazz was always one of my favorites too,he was a cool character, I was sad they killed him in the movies. Things that are universally awesome have no race, as they belong to everyone.

Sure the Fallen is also voiced by a black man, but you know what, a white guy has voiced Megatron for last 25 years, whos pretty much the metallic version of Hitler.(even with the nazi like flags in the comic version) Majority of the decepticons are voiced by white actors (is hasbro saying all white people are evil? No cause we aren't retarded.), but since when is who plays a character a reflection on the person or their race? If it were no one would want to ever act as a villain.

The whole we don't read thing, thats ripped totally out of context. If you watched the movie and paid attentioned NO ONE CLAIMED THEY COULD READ THE GYLPHS BUT JETFIRE AND THE FALLEN! Not bumble bee, not Wheelie, not megatron or the twins. So how is that racist if only a handful of characters could read the symbols? Again this all stems from one thing, people who assume this is racist have negative stereotypes locked in their head. They re connecting dots the movie didn't.

If someone drew a small gremlin and had them setting off fireworks and laughing evily, then someone asks them whats that, you reply it's Michael Bay. I then show the picture to Michael Bay, he goes hey neat lil monster I might use that in a film. He doesnt get offended despite it was a shot at him. Why..because he doesnt see himself that way.

And the people who dont get offended by the movie dont see themselves as goofy idiot posers, as they dont consider that their race.(my friend who didnt care for the film since shes a G1 fangirl, is black and bashed the movie plenty, she'd said was racist if she thought so since she never sugarcoats.) If you consider being goofy looking buck teeth, dumb and talking Gangsta what a black person is as thats first thing that pops into your head then may be you re the racist.

I come from chicago, I have plenty of postive black role models to look up and dont connect those dots. People like Michael Jordan,Scott Pippen, Walter Payton, Lovie Smith, Derek Lee. None of these men remind me the slightest of the twins. I dont connect nothing but bad things to them.

What does remind me of the twins, poser idiots whom I think we re supposed to laugh at heh(like in the video of boys in the hood by dynamite hack, just first thing I think of when I see the twins.). Which African Americans, last I knew werent laying claim to being poser idiots as Gangsta isnt a race. Neither is talking like a surfer or a hippie like beachcomber does. No more than talking like Clint Eastwood as Ironhide does, or Mirage in the original series talking like Dean martin, or grimlock like a caveman.

They are simply robots coming from another world learning our language through the world wide web and talking on jargon that suits their personality as the first movie clearly described. The twins happen be basically kids who are trying really hard act cool. My best friends lil brother was same way, as he did all kinds of stupid stuff prove he was hard as older kids. It's funny how many kids emulate Gangsta here, and my neighborhood is mostly hispanic.

I fail see how this train of thought really has a leg to stand on. Anymore than saying the cars in Cars are white trash cause Larry cable guy voiced a buck toothed tow truck. I dont see critics headhunting them down for that, I think we can let this go too. Besides when were critics considered experts on anything besides movies? I wouldnt trust concepts like race relations to likes of them.

Other points, I never had any trouble telling what transformers were what. Every single autobot is a different color infact. I suppose i walked into the movie knowing ahead of time what characters were supposed be what, but I never confused megatron or starscream. Not even in the first film. I understand the first film was harder to follow, but the second movies were zoomed out more.(especially in the Imax version, which the extra footage isnt that much longer.) The I cant tell what Im looking at arguement doesnt hold up. (or may be you shouldnt sat in the second row heh.)

Either way its a fun movie, and actually pretty much follows a G1 plot for the people complaining its not enough like G1. Decepticons create an evil plot that will cause serious damage to the earth in order to extract energon. (thats 80% of the stories right there for season 1 and 2.) Sure they could trim the fat a bit, but its supposed be transformers in the real world, not in this world where they simply fight and have all robots. (plus be really damn expensive.) The original cartoon and comics basically just treated like any other super heroes and villains fighting and the world just is ignored around them. The movie tried inject some realism to situation I felt was kind of over due in the transformers series as we actually get to see directly how their prescence effects the world.(which they did their homework on the miltary stuff as they show and do stuff by the book.)

The human characters also take some of the nerd centric hard edges off the property and give something relateable to audience. Like Sam going off to College, my mom bawled her eyes out when I was going off to the air force, or the notion of getting your first car in the first movie. Its all stuff we ve experience or will. Its normal and sets people up for all the extraordinary stuff that follows. If they wanted do an all robot movie(like 86 film that horrible bombed.), they d been better served making a CGI movie in vein of the recent TMNT movie than a live action one.

This long enough so Ill cut it here. Hate it if you like, it doesnt take away from my experience as I own both movies and eagerly look forward to the 3rd. They had their weak spots in their armor, like the lack of bot time in the first(budget issues.) or the more than Id care for in crude humour. But it got the job done well enough. im not claiming its the greatest anything, merely that I liked it. (if I were a fanboy I'd be stating greatest movie ever!!)

Theres alot worse movies that been made even in this year. (district 9 was awful.)Or ever like Blaire witch project, spice world, wing commander , reign of fire or Date movie. I can think of dozens of movies that were far worse even if you hated this one.

I can hardly remember most of the movie and I just watched it for the first time yesterday. The only thing that would probably have been memorable was the effects and I've never really cared about them. It was just silly and boring.

Probably way too late:

But Soundwave was the satelite, and thus the little robots were his 'cartridges'. Child of the 80's, so I recognise the stuff from the original series. Sadly, it's the only good stuff in the movie. Hearing Optimus and Soundwave, and of course, Starscream being Megatrons bitch. Other than that, cringe worthy pain. It's like when Hogan makes a come back. Nostalgia convinces you to check it out, then you have deep hurting for a while as a result.

And yeah, there is a third coming. 2011, fuckers.

Just so you know, Transformers 2 currently has the largest box office gross of 2009 at over 400 million.. that's a hundred million more than the next closest movie. Oh yeah, there'll be a third. I weep for humanity.

Wow. I've seen this movie no less than four times in theaters. When you go see an action summer blockbuster, you shouldn't go in thinking there will be a substantial plot, you go because you want to let your mind go and relax while seeing stuff blow up. Really, this plot was more complex than you give it credit for. There were a few bad parts, the mom was stupider than normal, and Anthony Anderson didn't return which sucked, but the point of the movie is to take you back to when you were younger and enjoyed more juvenile jokes. Everyone in my theater was laughing hysterically at Wheelie and the Twins, who along with Jetfire were the best characters in the movie. Everything was explained if you listened instead of shaking your head at how "stupid" it is. But think, did it really make sense in Die Hard to not try to set up some snipers and just let one guy do everything? Was it smart in Lord of the Rings to give the fucking hobbit the ring? Why in Star Wars did Obi-Wan have to die instead of coming along with Luke so he could help out more? You don't think of these things because you are focusing on the action, and I think you failed to do that here. I can understand that people didn't like this movie, but I don't think it deserves the hate it received. The same with the Protector which everyong I know thinks is a fantastic movie with great choreography, including that one take that is like eight minutes long of ass-kicking, and when he destroys all those guards bones? That was awesome, like Transformers 2.

You don’t think of these things because you are focusing on the action, and I think you failed to do that here. I can understand that people didn’t like this movie, but I don’t think it deserves the hate it received. The same with the Protector which everyong I know thinks is a fantastic movie with great choreography, including that one take that is like eight minutes long of ass-kicking, and when he destroys all those guards bones? That was awesome, like Transformers 2.

First of all let me say in all honesty that I did not see this movie in the cinema. Then let me say that I watch movies for free online and I didn't even watch this for FREE online. After the first movie I had zero intrest to even spend the time (and ONLY the time) to watch it. Even after laughing my ass off watching this review of it I still have no intrest what-so-ever. Having said that i'm with your brother on this one. It's a kiddy movie with some fail "adult" jokes thrown in for the teenagers. And let me say that I hate shai lebouf or however the hell you spell his name. His name isn't even worth capitalizing cause he is that meaningless.

As a side note.. Do more reviews with your brother his reactions were gold.
