The Spoony Experiment

Dirty Dancing (PC) Review

Oh yes, believe it or not, there is an official Dirty Dancing game exclusively on the PC! It could be the worst game yet, but nobody puts Spoony in a corner! WOLVERINES!

Awesome review. I remember freedom fighters, I loved playing as the Commies on multiplayer and kicking my brothers ass constantly ^_^

I remember reading somewhere that this game was put together in less than three months. Makes me have SOME respect for the programmers.

SHAKE DOWN THE THUNDER FROM THE SKY!

What was up with the Notre Dame fight song at the end? Doesn’t bother me, I’m an UND fan.

lolman March 19, 2009 at 7:00 pm

What was the song they had while the dirty dynasty warriors were dancing?

15
Sarkis Samuel March 20, 2009 at 10:11 pm

hahahaha what a piece of shit!!
I think in regards to the pointless buying of accessories and furniture, etc…I guess they figured if people were stupid enough to waste their money on this “game” (if you wanna call it a game) in reality, people would be stupid enough to care about pointless shit in your cabin. haha watermelon.

GDwarf March 25, 2009 at 4:28 pm

…That “dancing” segment? That’s a *blatant* ripoff of Elite Beat Agents for the DS, only EBA was an awesome game that deserves a sequel, while this…yeah.

So, I guess they did take your advice, they made a rhythm game clone, only they did it very, very poorly, using the wrong interface (EBA could really only work on a DS) and missing the point (rapid-paced tapping of targets in time with music.)

They just failed on every level.

Noah, that Die Orc shirt from KoDT made this review even better.
God, I haven’t played Freedom Fighters in a long time.

The dynasty warriors dance song, I think just called “I was made for lovin’ you”?, anyway it’s a Kiss song. But where did that footage come from? It hurt.

19
coolninjatv April 3, 2009 at 7:07 pm

One of your best.

20
Kyle April 7, 2009 at 5:10 pm

@lolman: The song is called I Was Made For Loving You by Kiss.

Awesome Review, BTW. One of my favorites outside of the FMV Hell.

Wow Noah, you really like that movie huh. I never thought I would hear a straight guy say that.

Isolder74 May 13, 2009 at 8:28 am

The cabin–worst SIMS rip off ever! Does it do anything other then waste your time?

23
Adrian May 15, 2009 at 6:58 am

LOL! The picture at the end rocks!

24
Suraht May 20, 2009 at 8:03 am

I have to second the question about using the Notre Dame fight song at the end…was it a deliberate stab at Michigan Wolverine fans?

25
some smelly guy May 20, 2009 at 1:37 pm

You foolish fool, you brought this pain upon yourself

26
Erik May 28, 2009 at 9:32 am

I get so annoyed at people saying “this and that is a rip-off of this and that game”.
Why?
Well, 90% of the time, the game they said have been ripped off was released WAY AFTER the game they’re accusing.

Get your facts straight!

Tombert July 15, 2009 at 9:21 am

iamoftheken July 17, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Freedom Fighters is pretty sweet, if brief.

32

33
Jetman123 July 30, 2009 at 10:26 pm

“why is there a watermelon over there?”

this whole review is a riot, but i actually spit out my soda when i heard the buckaroo banzai reference. hilarious

I mean, at least i think it was a BB ref. the watermelon may very well have to do with the actual movie and have a perfectly good reason for being there, but i honestly wouldn’t know as i’ve never seen the movie or played the game since i have a penis and enjoy putting it in ladies so…yeah…

WOLVERIIIIIIIIIIIINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

35
Tyler September 11, 2009 at 11:00 am

Yeah! Red Alert!!

36
Lucas September 14, 2009 at 7:03 pm

R.I.P. Patrick Swayze!

They should dedicate the new Red Dawn remake in memory of him!

37
Alyson September 15, 2009 at 11:40 am

In memorial to Mr. Swayze, I watched the MST3K “Santa Claus Conquers the Space Martians” which featured the song “Patrick Swayze Chistmas: Ode to Roadhouse”. He shall be missed. :(

38
Hail Satan September 18, 2009 at 4:23 pm

43
JTK October 29, 2009 at 7:27 pm

I shit you not I saw a copy of that game at the Galleria Mall just last Saturday on 10/24/09, in the place’s Game Stop.

Seeing that reminded me that you made a review for this game, so i decided to watch it XD
